National Forget-Me-Not Day

November 3, 2011

Happy November, Everyone!

Thank you for putting up with Halloween festivities for two weeks in a row (although I’m sure you all truly enjoyed it). Nice to see that I’m not the only one who needs to watch something preferably animated after watching scary movies and then proceeds to question whether my cat is staring in the corner because it’s fun or there’s a ghost! (Okay, maybe that’s still mostly me). Anyway, we’ve got something good to talk about today, so I won’t make you wait any longer! Congratulations to Michelle Balvin (posted on October 27, 2011 at 5:21 pm), Carmen Guajardo (posted on October 27, 2011 at 5:35 pm), Marcie (posted on October 27, 2011 at 6:39 pm), Lisa (posted on October 27, 2011 at 6:58 pm), Melissa (posted on October 27, 2011 at 8:08 pm), Lisa B. It’s officially November, Halloween is done and we are all in sugar comas, I’m sure. Just about every supermarket, grocery store, or retail area has their Holiday and Christmas decorations up and ready to go. Let’s not forget all the shopping sales and people marking their lists (and stocking up on helmets and other protective wear) for the infamous Black Friday. You’ve probably even received at least two greeting cards by now. This means poor little Thanksgiving is already forgotten about before it’s even started. Remember that holiday? Thanksgiving? The one with all the good food, and you somehow forget every year that turkey always makes you tired and take a nap about 10 minutes after you’ve eaten to excess? That’s the one! Now don’t forget it!

Just like we should all remember to mark our calendars for National Forget-Me-Not Day on November 10. National Forget-Me-Not Day is a time to remember both those near to you like family, friends, and loved ones, and those whom you haven’t reached out to in a while. It’s also to memorialize a loved one no longer around. A great way to let someone know that you care for them and still think about them, or just to spend a day remembering all the good times with the people who have brought you joy!

So how should you be celebrating National Forget-Me-Not Day?

Pick up the phone and call someone! Yes, that’s right, you didn’t read this wrong. I said “pick up the phone and call someone”…as in actually talking to them with your voice and not through a little electronic screen. It will really brighten their day to know that you care enough to speak with them and find out how they’re doing!

Write a letter! Just think about how special you would feel if someone took time out of their day to sit down and actually handwrite you a letter to tell you stories with the anticipation of receiving one back. They can keep the letter as a memento and not have to worry about it being deleted or sorted into junk.

Send a package!
Who doesn’t want a random package or gift when it’s not their birthday or holiday season? It’s absolutely guaranteed to brighten the recipients day. And we have a good suggestion! Our Premier Chocolate Gift Basket (featured above) will make any day a joyous occasion. Filled to the brim with exquisite gourmet chocolate and tied together with a beautiful blue bow, it’s the perfect way to say “I was thinking about you today”! Also, fun fact, the color blue is scientifically proven to jog memory 🙂

Don’t miss out on your chance to win one of FIVE of these beautiful gourmet Premier Chocolates Gift Baskets! In the comment section (in 1-2 paragraphs) tell me me who you’ll be contacting on National Forget-Me-Not Day!
