As always, thanks for coming back every week to read and comment! I really do enjoy reading all of your stories and all the things that you’re excited for. Have fun, eat well and enjoy your holiday! I’ve got a weird town tradition and celebration to get ready for that involves eating deep fried pieces of a turkey that is best to just drown in hot sauce…Thanksgiving traditions! Enjoy this Peanuts clip while I’m out 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Sweet Treats Mug & Cocoa Gift Basket

Sweet Treats Mug & Cocoa Gift Basket $34.99; Product Code:94880

Now I know I’ve been on and on about not forgetting Thanksgiving (which I haven’t!) and I said I wasn’t even going to think about Christmas until December hits, but I’ve got a blog to write and I’m trying to not think about food too much before Thanksgiving so I can prepare myself for an early turkey-induced coma. So what I’m about to write about might be a big “huh?” But I do want to share some of our really great Holiday gift baskets with you all! (Plus, who could say no to the holidays? Sorry Thanksgiving, you’re cool and all, but I like listening to “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on repeat too many times).

On with the show! First up we have a 1800Baskets.com exclusive Holiday gift, the Sweet Treats Mug & Cocoa Gift Basket. Outside is getting alarmingly too crisp for me and I’ve already picked out a nice comfy pair of slippers to wear while I’m preparing myself a yummy mug of hot cocoa! In the Sweet Treats gift basket you’ll receive two solid, red ceramic mugs perfect for the holiday season, chocolate truffle cocoa, mini marshmallows (the kid in me is screaming with joy!), Fannie May® Dark Chocolate Squares, cookies, and more! Such a cute gift for a Secret Santa, office coworker, family member, friend, or (like I’ll be doing) a nice treat for yourself! Highly recommend this cold day companion since winter is coming (who do I think I am? Game of Thrones? I miss that show…)

Don’t take my word for it (though you really should by now), watch our video we made for it!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving celebrations and be safe, eat lots of food, have fun with your families and friends! And in the comments section (1-2 paragraphs) let me know what you’re most excited for this Holiday season! National Forget-Me-Not Day

November 3, 2011

Happy November, Everyone!

Thank you for putting up with Halloween festivities for two weeks in a row (although I’m sure you all truly enjoyed it). Nice to see that I’m not the only one who needs to watch something preferably animated after watching scary movies and then proceeds to question whether my cat is staring in the corner because it’s fun or there’s a ghost! (Okay, maybe that’s still mostly me). Anyway, we’ve got something good to talk about today, so I won’t make you wait any longer! Congratulations to Michelle Balvin (posted on October 27, 2011 at 5:21 pm), Carmen Guajardo (posted on October 27, 2011 at 5:35 pm), Marcie (posted on October 27, 2011 at 6:39 pm), Lisa (posted on October 27, 2011 at 6:58 pm), Melissa (posted on October 27, 2011 at 8:08 pm), Lisa B. My grandma

The excitement is far from over though, so don’t navigate away from me! (See? I can do internet humor). Are you all still with me? (Phew). This week we’ll be changing things up and featuring some hot summer food trends and ways to solidify your reign as “hostess with the mostest” (Martha won’t even know what’s coming). Fourth of July and summer in general, usually mean a lot of outdoor parties, grilling, and trying to come up with foods that won’t melt or make you melt in the sun. Usually I like to gather with friends or stop by my grandparents for a family party especially for my grandma’s Spanish rice and steak (we got half the holiday right). My grandma (pictured) is the one who typically does all the cooking, even the grilling (if she delivered, I would be set). At one particularly infamous family BBQs she was making her usual home-made salsa and chips and additional sauces for the meat, in which she cooks and adds a hot pepper or two, some cilantro, and usually chills the salsa (it normally helps cool you off). I guess she had too many dishes going at one time and didn’t realize how many peppers she added because what was normally a tasty and refreshing meal had nearly everyone red and drowning in their own sweat (even with the air conditioning). Eventually it became a challenge to see who would “sweat” it out the longest to please her. Needless to say, there is more taste testing during the cooking process now.

Matching a person to an appropriate Gift Basket

December 1, 2010
Comfort and Joy Sweet Treats Gift Basket

Comfort and Joy Sweet Treats Gift Basket

So we’ve been hearing quite a few comments regarding this specific gift basket during our various internal and external meetings. Many times it’s something as simple as “that’s a cute little basket” or “i love the christmas colors”. So the reason for this post is to ask you to whom would you give this specific gift basket, who do you feel it’s appropriate for? The other reason we ask is many people have mentioned to us that they liked the fact that it was not too big. They said it made it “giveable” for certain people on their holiday shopping list. We are actually looking right at this gift basket as we type this post. And it really isn’t a huge gift basket by any means, and it is indeed very cute and presents quite well. The gift basket is very re-usable as well within the home. Ha…it looks like we may be biasing your answers now!! Anyways, we’re not quite clear on the exact question for you, but generally we’d like to know what you think about this holiday gift basket.

So in about a paragraph or two (or three if you have the time!), let us know what you think. Only 1 paragragh is required, but if you write us a whole page, we will literally read every word, not kidding. We love your feedback, even when it’s negative. So let’s hear your thoughts. There will be 3 winners!

Winner Status:
